Bush Elementary school is in front of TIUA. Section 6 and section 5 students went there to give presentation of Japanese cultural traditions. They were Taiko, Karuta, Taketombo, Yukata and Origami. The students looked a little nervous because it was the first time for many of them to give a presentation. However, they did a good job and these students and teachers were interested in Japanese culture. It was a great experience for TIUA students.

Oregon State Capital

There is Oregon State Capltal in front of Willamette University. Oregon State Capital is the state legislature and the offices to officially control the state. The building is the third because two capitol buildings
were destroyed by fire, one in 1855 and the other in 1935.

In Oregon State Capital, people can join a tour. If they join the tour, they can go to the top of the building. The view is very beautiful and they see Golden Man close. However, to arrive the top, they have to up a lot of stairs. When they finish the tour, they will receive the certificate. It prove that they went to the top.

Zena Farm, Salem, Oregon

In Zena Farm, there are three areas which are the kitchen garden, the production field and the greenhouse. Because the kitchen garden is a 3000 sq ft, the production field is 1/2 acre and the greenhouse 1600 sq ft, people can see a vast plain. Zena Farm sets goals which are to serve places to study for students, sustainable food source, and  a model garden for visitors. If people go there, they can learn about sustainablity and realize how it is important for them and the environment.
